How to Use Battleship Solver

Next Battleship Move eliminates guesswork using real-time Bayesian probability density calculation. Follow these three steps:

🌊

1. Mark Shots

Click any cell to record a 🔥 Hit or 🌊 Miss. Right-click quickly places a miss.

2. Track Sunk Ships

Click ships in the Enemy Fleet panel when destroyed to dynamically recalibrate parity hunting.

🎯

3. Follow Peak Heat

Fire at coordinates with the highest probability badge (⭐) or follow the glowing red cluster.

Naval Strategy: Hunt vs. Target Mode

Hunt Mode (Parity)

When searching open water, fire on alternating checkerboard tiles to intersect every ship in half the shots.

🎯

Target Mode (Adjacency)

After a hit, immediately test the 4 cardinal directions (N, S, E, W). Never shoot diagonally from a hit.

💥

Collinear Extension

Once two hits align (e.g. D4 and D5), the ship must be horizontal. Fire solely at D3 and D6 until it sinks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are cell probabilities calculated?

The solver places every remaining enemy ship across all open positions that do not collide with known misses or sunken hulls. Coordinates with the highest number of intersecting ship layouts receive the highest heat score.

What are the standard Battleship ship sizes?

Standard Hasbro Battleship uses 5 ships: Aircraft Carrier (5), Battleship (4), Cruiser (3), Submarine (3), and Destroyer (2).

Does the solver run locally?

Yes, 100% of calculations execute directly in your browser's JavaScript engine. No board data is ever sent to external servers.
